Gain vital youth ministry skills by learning to: implement a comprehensive youth ministry program; engage youth and adults to call them into the ministry; plan, organize, and execute programming; present spiritual programs and retreats in dynamic ways; successfully collaborate with a parish staff; facilitate meetings and small groups effectively; disciple youth and young adults into the mission of Jesus.  You will receive the youth ministry skills and experience to get a job.

 

Catholic Youth Evangelizers

SPIRITUS is a dynamic group of young adults called to evangelize thousands of Catholic youth each years through retreats and parish youth ministry.  We are seeking passionate Catholics, 20-29 Years of age, who have a love for their faith and want to ignite the faith of others!  SPIRITUS team members live in community and travel to schools and parishes throughout Wisconsin, inspiring students in grades 3-12 through retreats, spiritual programs, bible studies, and parish-based youth and young adult ministry.

 

Compensation

Both positions receive: God’s grace to evangelize His youth; a community of friends to live and work with; training in evangelization and youth ministry; housing, food, health insurance, $150 monthly allowance, spiritual direction, weekly formation classes, time off for holidays, $2000 stipend upon completion of program, and an awesome year of serving that will change your life forever.

Major and Career Fairs

Oct 2: Career Fair (at Winona State but we co-sponsor the event and run buses there and back).  Often non-profit organizations are represented at this fair, so if you want to talk to some employers that are often working with churches or sponsored by churches--but are not parishes--consider attending!  You do not need to be a senior to do this, in fact, it is a good idea to see what it is about as a sophomore or junior.  Occasionally there is information on internships there as well.

Oct 3: What's my major?  Department representatives are available for discussion late afternoon Oct 3, including us!  Come and ask questions about the majors and minors, what alums do with them, possible double majors, etc.  More information to come!

TOB 2012 Summer Internship

Are you a young person who is interested in giving of your time and talent to further the mission of the Theology of the Body Institute? The Theology of the Body Institute has been blessed by thirteen young men and women who have given their time, talents and dedication to furthering our mission. Here are reflections from a few of our interns:

The five courses I attended renewed my understanding of marriage and the priesthood and helped me realize that whether physical or spiritual, God was calling me to be a father. The idea of the priesthood had danced around my head for many years, but I was never ready to say “Yes” to God's call. However, my year with the TOB Institute prepared me for this “Yes,” and I was accepted to the seminary in July 2010.

By interacting with other Catholics in the workplace and at the courses, incorporating prayer more into my life, and giving what gifts I can in my work, I have gained confidence in my own person and in God.
